Fall is always my busiest, most stressed out time of the year. In the last 10 weeks I have shot 9 weddings gone to 9 final consults and rehearsals, had 5 initial consults, 16 various engagements/headshots/families, and an all day bpic shoot with my sister on top of starting school again in a new grade with a very challenging class….but somehow in my free time I did manage to spend a little time with the fam… Last weekend we finally made it up to the pumpkin patch…you know the one by this beautiful Jefferson County monument

so of course I made the kids get on it

anyway off to the patch

on the hunt for the perfect pumpkins

Brady insisted on lugging the pumpkins around…here he is showing his “pipes”

ok now I realize I am gone alot…but what the heck is going on here??? What was he learning while I was gone???

and of couse any one who knows me knows that Halloween is my most favorite day of all days…and yes I make the kids do a “dry run” of the outfits to make sure things go smoothly on Halloween..ha ha I am such a freak I know…
but not as big of a freak as my kids…Lyvi is worse…she loves posing and is always like “mom do the picture of me doing this…now this…wait let me try this…it’s so funny. I think I created a monster after all the years of trying new stuff out using her.

“the hulk can beat up a pirate…no he can’t…a pirate can beat up hulk”

More posing from the wierd one..I bet there are 5 more in different poses…but in the interest of time I’ll just post this one (I swear I don’t make her do stuff like this)

and last but not least some more pirate vs. hulk action took place on the porch and the funniest thing is Lyvi’s eye patch broke and she ended up looking like a three-eyed pirate…now THAT’s scary

So after a very busy season I knew I’d be ready for a vacation..in fact it’s the first vacation I have had in like 5 years…I am leaving for Jamaica in exactly 8 days! YIPPPPEEEEE I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I will be shooting a wedding down there too so it’s not a total vacation…but it’s vacation enough! :)

Someone tell me why winter drags on and on but my summer vacation is over before I know it… I feel like I haven’t even done anything super fun yet…I have been up to my ears in bpics so after yesterday’s shoot at the house I went and met up with my friends. I have the BEST friends anyone could ever ask for. It makes living out here and Jeffco all the worthwhile…although the sun rises aren’t too shabby..

Check out this sunrise. I have such a pretty view out my office window.

Roxie

Look how BIG she’s getting. We’ve had her a month…We were told she’d be around 20-25 pounds…we were DUPED!!

My strong little man…just turned 4 by the way

this is some stray cat who keeps coming around my friends house. He thinks he lives there and just makes himself right at home. I love his whiskers.

This is cute little Sydney…He will be one in October and his Mommy just found out she’s having another one due in February!! :) She will be a busy mom!!

okay well I hope that was enough to hold over some of my blog stalkers for awhile…ha ha I am off to the Westin to do some more BPIC shoots. I am excited because the last 25 shoots have been here at the house and I am pumped to go somewhere else!

There is this site that I go to all the time that is a forum for wedding photographers. There are photographers on there from all over the WORLD! Well I was reading on there today and there was a post about a photographer finding out his images were stolen and being used on another photographer’s website. I clicked to see the stolen images and I was ASTONISHED to see it was a Saint Louis photographer who stole the images. I will say that it is someone I haven’t really heard of but they do advertise on stlwed.com Out of professionalism I won’t give the name of the site…but I will give the link that shows the stolen images Click here to view them I think this is a great reminder to people that you really need to check out your photographer. Ask questions, make them show you a COMPLETE wedding, go with your gut. If something seems fishy it probably is!!

Well, I mentioned in the last post I didn’t have anything for awhile and it’s a good thing I didn’t. I have been up to my ears editing bpics and engagements. I am just about caught up. I did save this guy’s life:

apparantly the new puppy’s favorite thing to do is eat bugs…which is so gross. We caller her “roxi the Bug Slayer”…But this guy was so cool looking I couldn’t bear to let him get eaten.

On a more serious note, my mom had heart surgery this week. They had run some blood work because she wasn’t feeling well and it showed that she had a heart attack and immediately had bypass surgery. Please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers. She is doing much better now, but I was really worried.

I don’t really have any other news other than I was interviewed by a new site for brides. It’s called saint louis wedding news. Here’s the interview if you want to read it. http://stlouisweddingnews.com/wedding-photography/sjmacky-photography/

Well, we’ve had puppy (still working on a name but it may be Roxi) for 2 1/2 days now and I swear it’s like having a baby again. I can’t go anywhere without her either being right under my feet or if she isn’t right under my feet, worried about what she’s doing because I can’t see her…ha ha and she cries…literally cries when she feels like she’s not getting attention. I think we may have a small diva on our hands.

Well the eye surgery went GREAT. I was a little freaked out yesterday because some blood vessels were broken in my right eye during the procedure which left bleeding and some mucus in there (GROSS and TMI I know) so things were a little foggy out of it yesterday (the blood cleared up but the slime didn’t) The left eye was fine. However today, much to my amazement, I woke up and for the first time since 3rd grade, I could see…I mean actually see…it’s so weird. I cannot wait to go see what my vision is today at my follow up appt. I bet it’s 20/20 or better. I was literally blind before. I couldn’t see ANYTHING without my contacts or glasses. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, but I had so many shoots booked back to back for the last couple years, I never had a two week period where I didn’t have pictures to take. So last year when I was scheduling for this year I made a point not to take on as much. SO all blog stalkers may be a little bummed that I don’t have any pics to post for awhile. I have some bpics but don’t always have girls that want me to post. The next wedding I have is on July 19th so I guess until then you’ll just have to look at misc. pics I put up. I go through images every now and again and try different processing techniques and that’s what I plan on doing for the next couple weeks….honing up on my photoshop techniques. I am getting a lot better at it!

I have been super busy lately and not seen my family in days…well partly because they were at the inlaws. So I had two meetings today and met my family for lunch. All I heard about was how “Aunt Cissy got another cute puppy (they have a teacup yorkie and 2 teacup pommeranians) and how it’s not fair that we don’t have a dog” and blah, blah, blah. After lunch somehow my 8 year old cons me into going to Petco “just to look around”…am I a sucker or what??!! I should have seen it coming!
Meet the newest addition to our family. We adopted her today (I am a big believer in rescuing strays and unwanted animals) We don’t have a name picked out yet, but she sure is a cutie!

somone is SUPER jealous

ok this post turned out to be quite the drama maker and honestly, my life has more than enough drama already…so….it’s gone. period. end of discussion.

Every year at this time I go through hair drama needing something different. I just can’t decide what to do with it this time. SO I thought I’d share some different hair phases of my life. Some of these are pretty funny. Please excuse the poor scanned quality (these are all predigital days)

ok obviously this is the 80’s..and EVERYONE had big hair (i’m in the middle bottom) Probably a JR in highschool here…gotta love the 80’s right? I can’t believe it was 18 years ago since this picture was taken…Yikes I guess I am getting old. :(

sorority hair phase

the “new mom…don’t have time” curly hair phase

the “oMG I’m 30 so I need to be blond now” phase

and I am sure I have a recent one but I currently have pics all over the place and can’t find one. There is one here though

**on a side note, after looking at these I have noticed a pattern of my eyebrows getting progressively thinner. At this rate 10 years from now I may not have any at all if I am not careful. hee hee***
